Some weddings stick to my heart like glitter and e Some weddings stick to my heart like glitter and even after more than a decade I can still remember their essence πŸ’›βœ¨

I'll never forget our late night meetings, the dedication each of these two poured into their celebration, but above all, your friendship throughout the years. We've planned together not one, not two, but three family events and they were all epic!!

Happy birthday, Sorina, I ❀️ you! πŸŽ‰ πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Exactly two years ago I was publishing a small art Exactly two years ago I was publishing a small article on my blog about the trends, or better yet, major shifts I wished would gain visibility in the wedding space in the following years πŸ“―

And while some did not dissapoint, some did... And sustainability has been left far behind in the discussions. Am I the only one feeling so?

To be clear, when I say sustainability, I'd like to hear more about wellbeing than the carbon foot print (which is, in my ignorance, a measurment hard to understand and even harder to tackle). But you know what everyone can understand? The concept of not going into debt for your wedding. The concept of not developing crippling anxiety at the thought of your wedding day. The concept of choosing products and services that come from clean and ethical businesses.

Yes, we need to recognize the need to have more eco-friendly practices and options for our couples. 🌱 But sustainability is bigger than the anti-consumption and ecological concerns.

So 2025, I'm talking to you! πŸ‘‹
Well, actually, I'm talking to everyone reading this - let's discuss real sustainability in the wedding sphere more - note for myself included πŸ˜‡

Cheers! πŸŽ‰

I don't know who needs to read this today, but her I don't know who needs to read this today, but here it goes πŸ˜…πŸ˜‡βœ¨

Planning for two or more years seems like a good idea, right? More vendors to choose from, all venues have availability still? Why not jump right at the opportunity? 🀨

πŸ‘‰ Financially, you're opening yourself up to unforseen increases in rates or tax changes, not to mention your own finances fluctuations that might occur.

πŸ‘‰ What you think you'll save with locking in prices now (which will only be possible for a limited number of services), you'll pay along the way with all the services that come later in the process - and this is without considering you will definitely change your mind on some things.

πŸ‘‰ Your own vision regarding your destination wedding will evolve over the course of two or three years. I see buyers remorse with flowers, photographers, gowns, you name it... Give yourself more than two years and you'll find yourself with an outdated version of what your wedding will be πŸ™

For many couples, planning a destination wedding has become wishful thinking rather than actual commitment and this translates to all sorts of unnecessary risks and ultimate disappointment 🫠

And yes, I do feel strongly against venues (and vendors) who book so far out, it almost seems irresponsible. 😀😳

So when you go and consider your dates options, reflect on this - are you deciding for a two (or more) years of planning or are you just delaying your commitment to some other future you? πŸ₯ΉπŸ˜Άβ€πŸŒ«οΈ

When I see this asked, I know the real question be When I see this asked, I know the real question behind it is ~ what's the "right cost" for a wedding planner?
And the honest answer is there is no right and no wrong cost and only couples can decide for themselves πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ˜Œ

πŸ“‹ When choosing a planner, you need to factor in
- your total budget and your needs,
- how much hand-holding you'd want to have,
- what wedding style suits you,
- if you want something very specific in terms of design,
- if you need someone with international experience
- if you prefer someone creative, someone detail-oriented or a bigger-vision person etc...

🟑 Lower prices may indicate a more expedite service and pre-packed vendor recommendations, but can also mean lack of years and experience in the field.

🟑 Higher prices come usually with more experience and a more personalised service. But only the cost will not guarantee total satisfaction or the best customer care!

🟑 Price is only a factor when choosing a wedding planner and, unfortunately, it doesn't always reflect the experience you'll get or the service you'll receive.
This is true for any type of service, not planners in particular. That's why choosing on price is rarely a good move, especially with your key vendors!

✨✨✨ Getting a good, reliable and friendly planner that aligns with your plans and your wedding scope is definitely a task on its own, but all worth it! πŸ’›
